By the way, if your a RV Park owner or Campground Owner, I really suggest you join ORCA.  They seem to have a great organization, and good sharing of information format.

I will be heading back down to Las Vegas in a few day.  I mess the warm days.

See ya There!!

Oasis RV Park, Las Vegas Is Now Only a Three Star Rating, and Dropping Fast

October 17th, 2008

I find it amazing to see such a great place start going down hill.  I have been going to the Oasis RV Park in Las Vegas for years.

Today they announced they are raising the monthly rents, yet reducing their services.

Your value for the dollar is dropping here.

I understand that some businesses need to keep up with overhead, but in Las Vegas, this is the winter months.  Engery cost drop, and landscaping cost drop also.  But I guess not the greed.  It’s truly a sad day for a Five Star Want-To-Be RV Resort.

Oasis RV Resort - Las vegas

October 13th, 2008

Hello,

As you can see, we just started a new blog to help Rangerrob friends and Family to view where we are.  We are currently staying at the Oasis RV Resort, in Las Vegas.

Oasis RV Resort is a 5 star rated RV Park, and we really enjoy it here.

We have noticed that some of the special events and entertainment have been removed from prior years, but its still a 4 star rating to me and my wife.

If you happen to be going to Las Vegas this year, please look us up.

RV Living Secrets: Full Timer Issues

RV Living Secrets: Full Timer Issues

Here is a scary subject.  Not owning a home anymore!
We all went through life working hard to have a home for our families, and not with the kids gone, it’s big, and full of 25 to 40 years of stuff.  Tons of stuff.

Me and my wife made the decision to become Full Timers, at age 44 even.  27 years of have homes, and 27 years of stuff.  What do we do, and will we regret it?

I will answers the second question first, will we regret it?  The answer is absolutely not.  Even when we bought a home a few years later, we have no regrets.

The first thing to do is to tell the kids you are dead.  Its time to get your stuff now!!.
So you and you better half need to start identifying what the kids get,  Then it’s time to sort.  I was amazed by how much we have aquimulated over the years.  Stuff we have not touched of years.

I suggest you start this process at the beginning of the years to springtime.  So the weather is right for multiple garage sales, and Goodwill runs.  We spent many days going through boxes, papers, closets, and the garage, that we could never put a car into, sorting and boxing.

My wife’s attitude was great.  We have had the same furniture for 26 years, and multiple homes, and we always had to use the same furniture for all of them.  If we have to buy a new home later, I want furniture that I like now, and matches my home.  So, the process began, and the neighborhood, were like wolves, buying up everything.   And it was easy.

I cannot express how the relief it was getting rid of all that stuff.  Me and the Wife never felt so good.  It was like a big burden taken off our shoulders.  It was the taste of Freedom.

We kept of best furniture, important family treasures, and basic home items, and fit it all into a 10 x 10 storage facility and called it good.  Our kids thought we were nuts, but got a kick out of it, probably since they now have most of our old stuff.
